Mehr Licht. Video in der Kunst

A collaboration between the Aargauer Kunsthaus and the Kunstmuseum Solothurn

In Mehr Licht exhibition, the moving images are ubiquitous – on our screens, in social media, on the street. What once began on flickering cathode-ray tube monitors has evolved into one of the most exciting forms of expression in contemporary art: video art transcends boundaries, plays with perceptions, and tells stories – sometimes poetically, sometimes radically. The two complementary exhibitions at the Aargauer Kunsthaus and the Kunstmuseum Solothurn demonstrate the impact of video art in Switzerland and within the two institutions themselves. The exhibitions bring together loans from public and private collections, include new productions, and are supplemented by works from the museums’ own collections, which feature key pieces of video art.
